Formation & Cultivation

Tahitian pearl harvesting unfolds in the embrace of May to November, a season adorned with nature's bounty. Between the realms of grafting and harvest, a journey that thrives for 18 to 36 months. With meticulous devotion, the nucleus of each cultured black Tahitian Pearl is cradled, nurturing a symphony of nacre growth until it reaches the cherished threshold of 0.8mm & beyond.

Top Grade Tahitian pearls

The most common Tahitian black pearl has a dark green body color, which is called "malachite green" commercially

.Pearl Science Laboratory naming the highest quality among the "malachite green" black pearls "Aurora Lagoon". It literally means a lagoon, The meaning of this name is that the bead layer of black pearls is rich in green pigments. This green pigment is very strong and makes the pearls show green color, like a lagoon in the sea.

When other conditions, such as roundness and flaws, reach the best standards, it is rated as Lagoon.

The picture shows a typical Lagoon black pearl, you can find that the luster of this black pearl is not only green. The outer circle is green, but the center of the pearl shows a very obvious red hue. This red hue is not actually called red in the pearl industry, but pink. Black pearls with this green outer ring and inner red hue are the most expensive on the market.

Aurora Malachite Green Max

The second grade of malachite green black pearls is called "Aurora Malachite Green Max". "Aurora Malachite Green MAX" is a specific name for the highest gloss intensity.In fact, there are quite a few that can be rated as "Aurora Malachite Green MAX", which is definitely less than Lagoon. Lagoon can not be green, but "Aurora Malachite MAX" must be green.
